My twisty afro

Now anyone that knows me knows that I cannot plait. When I say plait I mean do braided hairstyles.  Before I put in my yarn braids I had one of my friends (God, Bless Her!!) put my hair into a mohawk style.

So I rocked this for a week. Maybe it could have gone to 2 weeks but I just hate having things in my hair for too long and before you wonder I still have in my yarn braids and surprisingly I am not in a hurry to haul them out. I am quite content with them at the moment how long it will last I don't know.

However I put up this hairstyle because I know that I don't have that much hair and I can still rock styles and YOU should rock styles even if you don't like it initially because it gives you a feel for what works for you and your features.

Hopefully I can put up more styles that I tried in my yarn braids... Until then.

Yarn Braids- New Look

Hi, decided to give yarn braids a try and just a hint but this was my first time even trying to braid. Heck, I don't even plait because I just don't do it that well.

Now this style took me 3 days because I had to take breaks. I was not able to do it straight through because my hand started to cramp. I have a new respect for hairdressers that braid hair... whew!!! It had me hopping.

Pay no attention to the unorganized tv stand...LOL

Friday's Style

So I finally have a style worth mentioning. I wanted to do a fauhawk but in all honesty I can't see past my ear to make clean parts. So... Here is my compromise.

For those that are wondering this photo session was done at work. The reason that the back is so laid back is because I decided to wear my tam on the back  because I'm trying t streatch my style until Monday.

I tried this hairstyle on Monday. I didn't really like how it looked but I rocked it for atleast 3 days then I rocked a twist out/fro. So today I am wearing my blue tam that I crocheted.

Yep... I looked a mess and some people liked it #sigh#

Trying to like it long enough so it can last the week.

Half done

Ok, I know that I have been missing for a while but here is my last style. I did my standard flat twist but I did not have enough time if I wanted to make it to work on time.

Let me know what you think. I loved the end result. I placed a little clip on one side to keep everything down and I was out the door in 15 minutes. Oh, and yes... this is what I look like without make up. Plus if you look closely you can see that I am still waiting on my eyebrows to fully grow back.

Thursday's Style

So today I decided to wait until I got home to take a picture of today's styling choice to see what it looks like at the end of the day.

So, this is me and my hair at the end of the day at 8:00 pm. It does not look bad but it isn't glistening like it does in the am. If you look closely this is how I look make-up free and my poor eyebrows have not grown out fully yet... (sigh) Until then I'm gonna have to rock the crooked split brow.

My little fro

This was Wednesday's hairstyle. I didn't have much time but I loved it all the same... Me and my little fro

I normally take my pics in the morning when it looks luscious and shiny. But if you look at the last pic you will see that I have a part in the front that sticks up... Well that part never really curls or blends in well, later on in the day I had to pat it down. But I think I am getting the hang of it. Just need to work on my skin now... Really look and them bumps on my forehead (products and sweat)... Sad but true it is working for my hair but not for my face.

Monday's Hairstyle

Today's hairstyle came out of a full on hair disaster in the making. I tried my handy dandy two strand twists but for some odd reason... the freaking things look like insects in the front of my head. Plus I woke up and 7 so that does not leave much time to get ready and then make the drive to work at 8:30.

Any who... In my haste I put on a small tam  that I crocheted in blue, twisted and pinned the sides and rocked a small twist out patch. Sounds interesting huh??!! Below are my pics.

Yep... Not my best pics but you get the idea. Plus I must say that this is not the best work hairstyle but what the heck this is the best that I could have come up with in a short space of time.

Hair Philosophy

Before I post my hairstyles I thought that I should state my hair philosophy.

I do not expect every hair day to be a good day. Yes, I am starting out with my small twa and at times it may just look like one big puff but it's mine... dry puff and all (lol). Also I would rather have short, curly, healthy and moisturized hair than long, thin and dry hair.

Personally I have nothing against straight hair just due to my scalp being extra sensitive it seemed best to just let my hair grow as it was meant to out ma scalp. However I hate to see relaxed hair with straggly ends or hair that has no fullness and body (though granted you may just have thin hair).

For those that don't know I use WEN. However, I will try new products because while WEN works  it's bloody expensive. I am not a firm believer in shampoos, I only shampoo once a month or every 2 weeks depeding on product build up. Every weekend I condition religiously and style on Sunday's
